Guided tour of the permanent exhibition of folk costumes

Guided exhibition tour
Limited capacity – sign up required

Take a look into the rich tradition of Croatian cultural heritage through an outstanding collection of folk costumes, textile craftsmanship and objects of everyday life from the end of the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. You will learn the stories behind the bridal costume from Vrlika with its dowry coins, the Konavle costume decorated with lavish silk embroidery, and the Slavonian gold-thread embroidery. Besides the splendid clothing, you will also see traditional instruments, objects of traditional crafts and an authentically reconstructed interior of a Pannonian house from the beginning of the 20th century. The guided tour will help you recognise the meanings, functions and symbolism of the objects and better understand the way of life and the customs of past generations.
