Guided tour of the Art Pavilion

Guided exhibition tour
Limited capacity – sign up required

The guided tour is intended for all visitors who wish to become acquainted with the rich history of the Art Pavilion in Zagreb – the first purpose-built exhibition building in Croatia and one of the most important monuments of Croatian cultural heritage. Through the tour, participants discover the circumstances of its creation, the architectural and artistic values of the building and the role of the Pavilion in the development of Croatian modern art.
Part of the programme is devoted to the restoration of the building after the 2020 earthquake. Visitors have the opportunity to learn about the complex process of structural and comprehensive restoration, the challenges of preserving a protected cultural monument and the methods of restoring historic architecture and decorative elements. The tour offers insight into contemporary approaches to the protection of cultural heritage and brings home to the public the importance of preserving one of the symbols of Zagreb.
The programme connects art, architecture, history and heritage and, through expert but accessible interpretation, provides a comprehensive view of the past, present and future of the Art Pavilion. It is intended for a wide audience, for pupils, students, tourists and all interested citizens.
