The Croatian School Museum is the only museum in Croatia specializing in the history of education and pedagogy. It was founded in 1901 and will soon celebrate 125 years of rich activity. Its collections contain almost 100,000 items and the Davorin Trstenjak Pedagogical Library, the oldest and richest pedagogical library in Croatia. A particularly valuable part of the collection is the Paris Room, which testifies to the history of Croatian education and is a grand prix medal from the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900. After the 2020 earthquake, the Museum temporarily operates in the “Školica za 5” gallery (Hebrangova 5) in Zagreb. Through exhibitions, programs, research and education, it promotes the values of education and actively preserves school heritage for future generations.
