The permanent exhibition of the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb is conceived as a thematic and chronological cross-section of the Prehistoric, Ancient, Egyptian, Medieval, and Numismatic Collections. Among the many objects that bear witness to everyday life, religious rituals, conflicts, and the artistic and technological achievements of ancient societies, the following stand out: the striking Egyptian mummy with the Zagreb Linen Book, the medieval inscription bearing the name of Prince Branimir, the famous Vučedol Dove, and the marble head of a young woman from Solin (‘Solinjanka’), a masterpiece of Roman portrait art.
