A Pause in the Lapidarium

A Pause in the Lapidarium is a project of the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb through which, on the occasion of the museum’s 180th anniversary, the Lapidarium is temporarily turned into a quiet, shaded and green oasis in the heart of the city.
Conceived as an open space for rest, reading, conversation and lingering, the project brings together heritage, nature and community, opening the Lapidarium as a living space of everyday life, contemplation and encounter.
Through discreet interventions such as greening the space, resting corners and a small book-exchange box, “A Pause in the Lapidarium” restores a new dimension of life to the ancient silence of stone – calm, unobtrusive and accessible to all.
