The Body In Presence

Workshop
Limited capacity – sign up required

The workshop The Body in Presence, led by Assist. Prof. Sanela Janković, combines the principles of dance movement therapy and mindfulness through movement and the sensory experience of the body as a starting point for becoming aware of inner states and for creative exploration. It is inspired by mindfulness practices in museums, where the cultural space becomes a framework for introspective work through movement with the aim of developing presence and a sense of connection with oneself and others, thus opening the museum as a place of personal and relational exploration.
Through guided movement and mindful attention to the body and its sensations, participants have the opportunity to slow down, listen to their bodies and connect with themselves, with others and with the space. The experience is further deepened through reflective drawing, which allows the integration of what has been experienced and the translation of bodily experience into visual expression. The workshop opens up space for introspective and relational exploration and for an encounter with one’s own emotions, supports the reduction of stress and deepens the experience of presence.
Note: comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for movement are required for the workshop.
Sanela Janković is a dance artist, assistant professor of art in the field of stage movement and a certified dance movement psychotherapist.
