The exhibition “In Memory of Kviskoteka”is dedicated to one of the most beloved television phenomena – the quiz show Kviskoteka. This cult-format programme, broadcast between 1980 and 1995, was more than just a quiz show; it was a cultural event that shaped the educational habits of generations, blending knowledge and play in a unique and entertaining way.
The exhibition also highlights the rich exhibition activity of the Croatian School Museum, which preserves the memory of two Kviskoteka exhibitions held at the museum in 1990 and 1991. These exhibitions showcased works submitted by viewers on the theme of Kvisko, the show’s mascot, originally designed as a sculpture by renowned Croatian painter and graphic artist Miroslav Šutej.
Many of the works displayed at those exhibitions were the result of creative engagement by children, school pupils, teachers with their classes, and even university students. A selection of these works—now part of the Croatian School Museum’s Collection of Works by Pupils and Teachers—is on view in “In Memory of Kviskoteka”.
We believe the exhibition will delight everyone—especially those who remember Kviskoteka vividly, as well as younger visitors who are passionate about quiz shows!
