The series of exhibitions with the joint title “Collection as a Verb” represents the new collection in duration of the Museum that redefine its’ concept and the social context in which it is situated. The exhibitions are not a finished project, but rather a process and swift reaction to the events around us. “Collection as a Verb” consists of the following exhibitions: “Sad Songs of War” are conceived as an answer to the current situation and the desire to express solidarity and empathy with the country undergoing a tragedy similar to that which is still fresh in our memory, “Comradeship” opens up the themes of solidarity and compassion, the role of art and museums in improving the world through works from the collections of Museum’s art collectives, as well as works by artists realized in cooperation with various communities, and “Futures” challenges the ideas and visions of the future which have been developing in art from the 1960s until the present day. The motif weaving through this project – “We Build the Museum, the Museum Builds Us” – has been conceived by artist Igor Grubić.
