On the first Saturday of September, families will learn about plants with permaculture expert Petra Pavleka. Are you ready to get your hands dirty in the museum garden? With Petra Pavleka, the green thumb who leads our gardeners with whom we’ve cultivated the garden, we will learn about garden care and harvesting, the practice of seed collection, and the rotation of different types of vegetables to ensure that urban polyculture beds are well filled and provide food throughout the year. Late summer and early autumn is the perfect time for planting and transplanting vegetables that thrive in cooler temperatures, ensuring a harvest in the fall and winter. This workshop is perfect for the busy pace of urban gardeners who want to teach their children how to make the best use of their urban garden or balcony!
The workshop is open to both big and small: moms, dads, grandfathers, grandmothers, uncles, aunts, caregivers, and all your children (recommended 7+) who would love to immerse themselves in the greenery of our garden and learn the basics about the world around us.
Lecturer: Petra Pavleka
