Contemporary society is a society of speed, noise, indiscriminate rushing for information, and assertiveness bordering on aggression, a society best described by a paraphrase of Donald Trump’s famous slogan “Me first.” However, not everyone is thrilled with this kind of society; many are searching for paths leading to different expanses, and even the staunchest supporters of the current world sometimes need a break from it – in places of peace, relaxation, and contemplation. Some of these places are cultural and artistic spaces, such as the Museum of Contemporary Art, which behind its thick walls preserves peace and silence, offering an entrance into other worlds, just a few hundred meters from the busiest intersection in all of Novi Zagreb and its largest shopping center. This walk will offer a discovery of very different places that, in the midst of the bustling anthill of Novi Zagreb, provide silence, peace, and the possibility of recovery from the rush and bustle, as well as opportunities for presenting different artistic content to those who rarely (or never) visit museum spaces.
The walk is suitable for families with children and bike tours, although some parts are not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs. The walk leader will provide details about alternative routes at the beginning of the walk. The gathering is on the plateau in front of the museum.
The walk will last 3 hours, and the end location will be one of Novi Zagreb’s tram stations. The walk leader will be Vanja Radovanović from the Mapping the Neighborhood association.
