The multimedia event “At Jan and Petrica’s” takes place in a theatrical setting evoking the garden of a travelers’ inn – complete with flowers, a bar, instruments, and wrought-iron screens – a place of gathering, conversation, and song. There, Jan Halubjan and Petrica Kerempuh meet and speak to the audience, as interpreted by Stanislav Habjan and Rene Medvešek. These two individuals and two literary characters alternate dialogues, songs, and small scenes, creating an intimate and witty musical-theatrical performance, which also serves as a preview of a larger show. That upcoming production is conceived as a homage to the historical “puppet play” “Petrica Kerempuh i spametni osel (Petrica Kerempuh and the Clever Donkey)” written by Dragutin Domjanić in 1919. The audience witnesses the moment when one fictional hero, after a hundred years, calls another to converse — about the world, art, and life. Joining Habjan and Medvešek on stage are Ljubica Gurdulić, Antoan Perković, Jura Geci, and Emir Čovran.
