SintArt 20: Sara Salamon
As part of the SintArt cycle, the Collection of Vjenceslav Richter and Nada Kareš Richter presents a solo exhibition by the artist Sara Salamon entitled Mise en abyme. Taking space as a system that “performs itself” as her starting point, and in cooperation with the artist Hrvoje Spudić, Salamon develops a series of spatial interventions that destabilise the possibility of orientation in space and the perception of space itself. The exhibition is created in dialogue with the theoretical and artistic legacy of Vjenceslav Richter, particularly his reflections on space, direction, Synthurbanism and Heliopolis, translating them into a contemporary context marked by a crisis of trust in images, information and the sense of reality. The exhibition is realised within the SintArt programme, a cycle of temporary exhibitions held as part of the exhibition activity of the Collection of Vjenceslav Richter and Nada Kareš Richter. The former working space of the architect and artist Vjenceslav Richter on the ground floor of the family house was converted at the beginning of the 2000s into an exhibition space, with the intention of presenting artworks from the donation as well as new artistic research by contemporary artists of the younger and middle generations. The SintArt project grew out of Richter’s idea and proposal that the Collection should exist as an active place open to research and experiment, and as a space for cultural content that engages in dialogue both with artists and with the local community.
