Richter for Children – The Shape of Architecture

Workshop
Fully booked!

The educational picture book RICHTER FOR CHILDREN – THE SHAPE OF ARCHITECTURE – SCULPTURE by Danijel Srdarev is the third in a series of projects presented on the ARCHITECTURE FOR CHILDREN platform. The publication was designed to bring the youngest audiences closer to the works and postulates of EXAT 51, New Tendencies and the gravitational drawing, all the way to the Brussels pavilion and the architectural achievement of the Collection of Nada Kareš Richter and Vjenceslav Richter and the sculpture park in front of the Collection, which operates as part of the MSU. Its purpose is to encourage users to interact with the space in which they find themselves, directing them towards creativity and spontaneity, freedom of thought and openness, through examples inspired by the works of Vjenceslav Richter. Danijel Srdarev’s picture book is a powerful tool for encouraging and developing visual perception and thinking; it conveys emotion and inspires further exploration, in which a major role is also played by the specially devised didactic games created alongside the picture book and inspired by selected themes.
The workshop takes the publication as the basis for creative work, while its methodological foundation is found in the legacy of geometric abstraction and avant-garde thought, whose premise is that progress in the creative approach to architecture and the visual arts cannot be imagined without research and experiment, and that sculpture is a three-dimensional object possessing visual-art properties.
