The lecture provides an overview of the Sun as the closest star and a crucial source of energy for life on Earth. Visitors will learn how the Sun is formed, what it is made of, and how its layers – core, photosphere, chromosphere, and corona – influence the processes we observe from our planet. Special emphasis is placed on the Sun’s activity and its effects on Earth – from the creation of the aurora borealis to the potential disruption of communication and energy systems. The lecture concludes with a look into the future of the Sun and its role in the development and sustainability of life in the Solar System
The program is held in the multimedia hall of the Croatian Museum of Natural History.
